Made in Ukraine, the Bushmate 2.0 is the second BPS Knives collaboration in the best-selling series with Dutch Bushcraft Knives, a YouTube duo that specializes in testing bushcraft knives. It is made with 1066 carbon steel, a walnut wood handle, and a heavy-duty leather sheath that comes with a ferro rod.
Updates on the new 2.0 include an improved handstitched leather sheath, a comfier handle with new screws making it easier to clean and switch the scales, and is now complete with a Scandy grind blade making it more versatile for various bushcraft tasks.
1066 Carbon Steel
The blade of the Bushmate 2.0 is crafted from durable carbon steel 1066, renowned for its outstanding edge retention and robustness. Designed with a Scandi grind, this type of sharpening is especially suited for the tasks encountered in bushcraft, providing superior slicing capabilities that allow you to tackle various cutting tasks with ease.
With a thickness of 3 mm (0.12 in), the blade strikes the perfect balance between precision and durability, ensuring it can handle tough outdoor challenges while maintaining sharpness throughout its use. Whether you’re carving, whittling, or preparing kindling, the Bushmate 2.0 is designed to perform excellently in any bushcraft scenario.
Since the blade of the camping knife Bushmate is made of carbon steel, it should be washed well and wiped dry after use, this will protect your knife from corrosion.
Walnut Wood Handle
The handle is crafted from walnut wood, treated with Danish oil to enhance its natural beauty and protect it from the elements. This thoughtful design provides secure grip, allowing for extended use. Whether you’re carving, slicing, or performing detailed tasks, the handle’s design ensures you have full control and comfort during long days in the wild.
Leather Sheath with Ferro Rod
The Bushmate 2.0 comes complete with a handmade leather sheath, carefully stitched with strong nylon thread for added durability. This sheath not only protects the blade but also enhances the knife’s aesthetic appeal. Two suspension options are available: a dangler and a fixed belt loop, giving you versatility in how you carry your knife on your adventures. Additionally, a ferrocerium rod is included, facilitating easy fire-starting when you need it most.
