Designed in cooperation with the highly-trained folks at S.E.I.G.E. (Strategic Edge Impact Global Enterprise) of Rochester, NY, the high-carbon, non-reflective black blade of the Big Brother is epoxy powder-coated and tests prove the finish is more durable than ever. The classic oval shape of the original KA-BAR® remains and has been modernized with a material nearly impervious to sweat, chemicals, water and wear - Kraton G®. Featuring a serrated top and straight bottom, the "Big Brother" is a perfect addition to the Kraton G® line.
The Black handle on the Kraton® Handled Big Brother by KA-BAR® is made from Kraton G®. Referred to simply as Kraton, it is a synthetic rubber that can be molded into knife handles. Kraton provides a non-slip grip.
The Fixed Blade on the Kraton® Handled Big Brother by KA-BAR® is made from 1095 CRO-VAN Steel and features a Flat grind. 1095 CRO-VAN steel is an easy to sharpen, plain carbon steel used in knife making. Proven to be one of the most popular steels used in KA-BAR Knives. With a Rockwell hardness rating of 56-58, this Clip Point shaped blade is 9.375 inches long and is stamped with USA.
Field sharpening the Kraton® Handled Big Brother by KA-BAR® is easy with its sharpened edge.
Included with the Kraton® Handled Big Brother by KA-BAR® is a Black Leather sheath with KA-BAR stamped on it.This Black Leather sheath is made in Mexico.
