The Black handle on the Short Black KA-BAR® is made from Kraton G®. Referred to simply as Kraton, it is a synthetic rubber that can be molded into knife handles. Kraton provides a non-slip grip.
The Fixed Blade on the Short Black KA-BAR® is made from 1095 CRO-VAN Steel and features a Flat grind. 1095 CRO-VAN steel is an easy to sharpen, plain carbon steel used in knife making. Proven to be one of the most popular steels used in KA-BAR Knives. With a Rockwell hardness rating of 56-58, this Clip Point shaped blade is 5.25 inches long and is stamped with USA.
Field sharpening the Short Black KA-BAR® is easy with its sharpened edge.
Included with the Short Black KA-BAR® is a Black Glass Filled Nylon with KA-BAR stamped on it.This sheath Fits most KA-BAR Knives with 5 1/4 inch blades.The sheath is made in Mexico.
